Make things easy for one another
Anas reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) said: “Makes things easy for one
another; do not make things difficult for one another. Give glad tidings to one
another and do not arouse distaste for things in one another.” (Bukhari &
Muslim)
Prohibition of pretentiousness
Asmaa reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) said: “Pretentious people are just
like those who wear fake dress.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
One’s mother is most worthy of one’s friendship
Abu Hurairah reported that man came to the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) asked:
“O Messenger of Allah! Who has the best due right for my friendship?” The
Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) replied: “Your mother.” The man then asked: “Who comes
next?” the Prophet replied: “It is your mother.” The man then asked: “Who comes
next?” The Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) replied: It is your mother.” The man then asked:
“Who comes next?” the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) replied: “It is your father.” (Bukahri
& Muslim)
Going for the easiest option as long as it is not unlawful
Aisha reported that whenever the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) was given the
choice to choose between two things, he would go for the easier provided that it
was not unlawful. If it was unlawful, he would be far from it. furthermore, the
Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) never ever took revenge for himself but only for
Allah’s sake.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
Visiting one’s relatives brings better provisions
Anas bin Malik that he heard the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) saying: “He who
would like his means of living to prosper or would like to live longer should
maintain close relations with his relatives.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
Prohibition of envying and bearing grudges against one another
Anas Bin Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) said: “DO not
bear grudges against one another, neither envy one another and nor boycott one
another but rather be brothers, servants of Allah. Indeed it is unlawful for a
Muslims to boycott his Muslim brother for more than three days.” (Bukhari &
Muslim)
The Best is he who starts greeting
Abu Ayoub Al-Ansari reported that the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) asked: “It
is unlawful for a Muslim to desert his Muslim brother for more than three days.
If they happen to meet, each one refrains from greeting the other but indeed the
best of them is he who starts greeting the other.” (Bukhari & Muslims)
Muslims are brothers
Abdullah bin Omar reported that the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) said: “Muslim
are just like brothers; they neither ill-treat one another nor do they leave one
another to suffer. On the Day of Judgment Allah will drive grief away from him
who drives grief away from a Muslim; and; Allah will conceal the sins of a
Muslim if he conceals the sins of another Muslim.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
Al-Numan bin Bashir reported that the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) said: “The
way believers show human understanding for one another is just like the way a
human body operates. If one parts gets hurt, the who body reacts.” (Bukhari &
Muslim)
Avoiding a profligate is a protection from his profligacy
Aisha reported that when a man asked for permission to see the Messenger of
Allah (p.b.b.u.h), the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) said: “Let him in although the worst
of companies is his.” However, when the man entered, the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h)
talked to him very kindly. Aisha then said: “Oh Messenger of Allah, how come you
said what you said about him yet you were very kind to him in your speech?” The
Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) then said: “Oh, Aisha, the worst kind of man is he whom
people avoid just to protect themselves from his profligacy.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
The Virtue of truth and the ugliness of lying
Abdullah bin Masud reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) said: “Truthfulness
always leads to good things and good things lead to Paradise. A man keeps
telling the truth until Allah considers him as a truthful person. By contrast,
lying leads to immorality and immorality leads to Hell-fire. A man keeps telling
lies until Allah considers him a liar.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
Who is the strong?
Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) said: “A strong
person is not he who could knock people down but is he who controls himself when
he is angry.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
The parable of good and bad company
Abu Musa reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) said: “The company of a good
person and a bad person is just like that of a musk carrier and blacksmith
bellows. The former would either give you some perfume, sell you some or at
least smells good; whereas the latter would either burn your clothes or sells
nasty.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
The Muslim and the migrant
Abdullah bin Omar reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) said: “A Muslim is he
from whose tongue and hands other Muslim are safe and a migrant is he who shuns
that which Allah has made unlawful.” (Bukhari)
Arrogance of women towards husbands
Ibn Abbas reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) said: “When I was shown
Hell-fire, I realized that the majority of its dwellers are ungrateful and
arrogant women.” People around him then asked: “Where these women ungrateful to
Allah?’ The Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) replied: “They were ungrateful to their husband
and showed no gratitude for benevolence. If you were good to one of them all
your life and happened that she was displeased with you once, she would say:
“You have not been good to me at all.” (Bukhari)
Allah will make paradise the abode of any Muslim spoken of appreciatively by two
just persons
Omar reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) said: “Allah will make paradise the
abode of any Muslim spoken of appreciative by four just Muslim.’ People around
the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) then asked: “what do you say if they are three persons
only?” The Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) replied: “Even if they are three persons only.”
They then asked: “What do you say if they are two persons only?” He replied:
“Even if they are two persons.” They did not ask him what he would say if it was
one person only. (Bukhari)
Neighbourhood
Aisha reported that she asked the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h): “Oh, Messenger of Allah,
I have got two neighbours; to which one of them should I give a present?” The
Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) replied: “The one whose door is closest to yours.” (Bukhari)
Greeting one another brings about love and friendship
Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger (p.b.b.u.h) said: “You will not enter
Paradise until you believe and you will not believe until you love one another.
So, shall I guide you to something which is you do, you will love one another?!
It is to greet one another with ‘Assalamu Alaykum.” (Muslim)
People’s praise of a believer is glad tiding for him
Abu Dharr reported that once the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) was asked: “What
do you say of someone who does good deeds and gets praised by people?” The
Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) replied: “It is advance glad tidings for a believer.”

The virtue of being good and kind to one’s daughter
Anas bin Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) said: “He who
has got two daughters, looks after them and brings them up generously, will be
next to me in hereafter. (Muslim)
Allah is so kind that he kindness
Aisha – wife of the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h)
said: “Oh, Aisha, Allah is so kind. He loves kindness. Deeds of kindness are
rewarded in a way considerably different from those of violence or other deeds.”
(Muslim)
The Quarrelsome
Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger (p.b.b.u.h) said: “The gate of Paradise
are opened on Mondays and Thursday when the sins of every servant who does not
associate a partner with Allah are forgiven except those of two Muslims brothers
who are cross with each other because of a quarrel over something. It is then
said: ‘Don’t record forgiveness for these two men until they reconcile; wait
until they reconcile; wait until they reconcile.” (Muslim)
The bankrupt in the Hereafter
Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) asked: “Do you
know who the bankrupt is?” His companions replied: “The bankrupt among us is he
who has neither money nor property.” The Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) then said: “The
bankrupt among my people is he who comes in the Hereafter having performed
prayer, fasted and paid ‘zakat’ but has already abused someone, slandered
someone, encroached upon someone’s rights, killed someone and robbed someone.
Each one of these people will be paid back from the bankrupt’s good deeds. If he
runs out of good deeds, he will be given some of their sins the result of which
is that he isthrown in Hell-fire.” (Muslim)
The Hypocrite
Ibn Omar reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) said: “The state of a hypocrite
is like that of a confused sheep which is in a dilemma of choosing between two
pasture.” (Muslim)
Abdullah bin Omaro reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) was never obscene in
his speech or action. The Prophet used to say: “The best among you are those
with good morals.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
Seven commandments and seven prohibited things
AL-Bara said that the Messenger of Allah (p.b.b.u.h) commanded us to do seven
things and prohibited us from doing another seven: “He commanded us to visit the
ill, join a funeral procession, give blessings to a sneezer, accept an
invitation for food, enjoin greeting one another, support the oppressed and
fulfill one’s oath; whereas he prohibited us from wearing gold rings (men only),
drinking from silver containers, sleeping on a mattress made of silk brocade or
silk linen and wearing clothes made of fine silk, silk brocade or heavy brocade
(men only).” Bukhari & Muslim)
Arrogant people will not enter Paradise
Abdullah bin Masud reported that the Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) said: “HE whose heart
contains an atom’s weight of arrogance will not enter Paradise.” A man then
asked: “What do you say of a man who likes to wear nice clothes and nice shoes?”
The Prophet (p.b.b.u.h) replied: “Allah is beautiful and He likes what is
beautiful whereas arrogance is a sign of being ungrateful and degrading in the
attitude one takes towards people.” (Muslim)
