The Road To Mecca this short biography tells the story of Leopold Weiss, the grandson of an orthodox rabbi. Though he initially set out upon his father's and grandfather's desire for a rabbinical career and indeed became well-versed in the Talmud and intricacies of the Bible, WWI and the resulting twists and turns of life caused him to travel and discover Islam and embrace it as his faithful belief. He wrote, "Those fateful months of my first sojourn among the Arabs set in motion a whole train of impressions and reflections, some inarticulate hopes a personal nature demanded to be admitted into my consciousness."
