Prophecies about the Advent of the World Prophet

--
The Holy Prophet Muhammad (s) was commissioned as the World Prophet for guidance of the whole of mankind, and the Quran is the complete and perfect guidance from God. This task of the World Prophet did not fall on any others shoulder. Before him every one was a national Prophet. Almost all national prophets prophesied about the advent of the World Prophet from every side of the world. A few most important revealed books containing the prophecies of Muhammads coming are mentioned here. The more a book is nearer to the Quran, the more is its resemblance to it; and the more it is distant from it, the greater is its difference from it.

THE QURAN: And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O Children of Israel! Surely I am the Messenger of Allah (sent) to you confirming that (which came) before me of the Torah, and giving the good news of a Messenger who will come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad" (One most Praised); but when he came to them with clear arguments, they said: "This is clear sorcery!" (61:6). There was no prophet between Jesus and Muhammad (pbuh). Hence Muhammad was meant by this verse. All Prophets made a covenant with Allah to announce the advent of the World Prophet. The Quran says: "And when Allah made a covenant through the Prophets: Certainly I have given you the Book and Wisdom, then an apostle will come to you, verifying that which is with you; you must believe in him and you must help him." (3:80). The Prophet Abrahams prayer about Muhammad and the Muslims runs thus: "O Our Lord! make both of us (Ibrahim and Ismail - before Isaac was born) Muslims (submissive) to You, and from our offspring a Muslim nation (Submissive) to you… O our Lord! Raise among them a Messenger of their own, who shall recite to them Your revelations and teach them the Book and Wisdom, and purify them. (2:128-9). The Quran also mentions the fact that the Torah and the Gospel contain prophecies about Muhammad: "Those who follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find written down in their own (Scripture) - in the Taurat (Torah) and the Inzil (Gospel)" (7:157).

THE GOSPEL: Jesus Christ said: "If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray to the Father, and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever; even the Spirit". (John 14:15-17). "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whosoever I have said unto you that I go away: For if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I shall send him unto you. " (John 16:7) "I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. How be it, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come." (John 16:12,13).

The original word for comforter in Greek was paraclete which is a translation from a Hebrew word meaning the spirit of truth or one who distinguishes between truth and falsehood. It appears from these descriptions that the Prophet Muhammad was meant by these verses, because there after, there was no prophet except Muhammad, and that the emergence of the Holy Ghost to teach mankind is meaningless.

THE TORAH: These occurs in Deuteronomy (18:18): I (God) will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put My words in his mouth; he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." In 33:2 (Deut), it says: "The Lord came from Sinai and rose up from Seir unto them: he shined forth from mount Paran and he came with 10,000 saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them."

Moses came from mount Sinai. Here paran means Arabia. 10,000 saints mean 10,000 soldiers of God who came with the Prophet and conquered Makkah. The law that was given by Muhammad was complete. These descriptions give a sufficient indication that the Prophet Muhammad was prophesied by these verse. Surely, Jesus was not meant by these description.

BUDDHA: The Digha Nikaya, the religious book of the Buddhist, speaks of Buddha of the future when the religion of Gautama shall be forgotten. This Buddha of the future was described by the word Mettyya (Sancrit - Maitreya), i.e. Buddha of Kindness. The Quran explicitly speaks of Muhammad as "A Mercy for the whole mankind" (21:107)

FARSI SCRIPTURE: The Persian scripture Dasatir in its 14th verse says: "When the Persian should sink so low in morality, a man will be born in Arabia whose followers shall upset their throne, kingdom, religion and everything. The mighty stiff-necked ones in Persia shall be overpowered. The house which was built and in which many idols were placed shall be purged of idols and men shall offer their prayers facing towards it. tTe wise men of Persia and others will join his followers." These descriptions do not apply to the Christians, Jews or to any body else. They certainly apply to Muhammad (pbuh) and his followers.

HINDU SCRIPTURES: The Puranas, Upanishad, and Vedas are the Hindu religious scriptures. In the Bhavisya Puran (Para 3, Khanda3, Adhayaya 3, Slokas 5, 7 and 8), it occurs: "Just then a man with the epithet "illiterate," Muhammad by name and an inhabitant of Arabia appeared with his companions. O denizen of Arabia master of the World! to you is my adoration. The prophecy is most clear and unambiguous. It occurs also on Allo Upanishad translated by Upendra Nath Mukhopadhya of Calcutta: "God is the owner of high attributes, complete, all-Knowing, Muhammad is the Messenger of God." In the Athev Veda (Khanda 20, Sukta 127, Mantra 1-3 it occurs: "O People! Hear this most heedfully. The man of praise (Muhammad) will be raised among the people."
